No, our coffee maker does not have any sound indications. It's designed to operate quietly without audio alerts, keeping the brewing process simple and unobtrusive.

We recommend descaling your coffee maker every 2 months, or more often, depending on how often you use it and the hardness of your water. If you live in an area with hard water or use your coffee maker frequently, descaling may be needed more often to maintain optimal performance. Descaling regularly helps ensure the longevity and efficiency of your coffee maker.

If the brewing cycle takes significantly longer or if the Coffee Maker spits, these are signs that descaling is necessary. If the coffee tastes bitter or unpleasant, we also recommend descaling the Coffee Maker.

We also have a built-in descaling reminder on our product. Every 60th time you start the coffee maker the red light, on the front of the machine, will blink to remind you that descaling is needed. Descaling is important to keep the product performing well and lasting a long time. If it’s not a good time for you to start the descaling program, you can press the button again. The coffee maker will brew as usual and remind you again after another 60 brewing cycles.

Static electricity when grinding coffee can be challenging to eliminate. That’s why our grinder is equipped with an anti-static chute, which helps to reduce static by discharging the grounds during the grinding process.

Burrs are sharp, serrated edges that grind coffee beans into a uniform size for brewing. There are two main types: conical and flat.

Conical burrs have a cone-shaped design with one burr rotating inside another, while flat burrs consist of two flat, parallel surfaces that adjust the grind size. Flat burrs typically produce a more consistent particle size, resulting in more even extraction, and they generate less heat, preserving the coffee's flavor and aroma.

The strength fine tuner is a way for you to fine-tune the grind result to your personal preferences. If you prefer your coffee a bit stronger or weaker, use the Strength Fine Tuner to adjust the grinder to produce more or less coffee than the preset amounts. Turn the strength fine tuner to the right, towards the plus sign (“+”), to increase the coffee amount, or to the left, towards the minus sign (“-”), to decrease it.

The Aarke Coffee Grinder has pre-settings for different number of Cups. If you want to time your grinding, we recommend you to use the "Manual Mode, M". When you start the manual mode, the grinder will grind until the beans in the hopper are out, or until you press the START/STOP button which allows you to grind your wished amount of time.

The grind chart on the glass lid indicates the suitable range for your brewing method, and the recommended grind size range is also detailed in Table 1 in the User Manual. We suggest starting in the middle of the range for the beverage you plan to make and let your taste decide what size that suits you. As different coffee beans may require varying grind sizes for the same brewing method. If your coffee tastes too strong and bitter, change to a coarser grind size (a higher number on the dial). Conversely, if your coffee is too acidic, try a finer grind size (a lower number on the dial).
